HAMMOND, La. – The reigning Southland Conference champion Southeastern Louisiana University women's basketball team will return to action in the Pride Roofing University Center Saturday to match up against Mobile for a 1 p.m. tipoff.
The game between Southeastern (2-3) and Mobile (7-1) will be televised on ESPN+. Live stats can be accessed on the women's soccer schedule page at www.LionSports.net.
Southeastern fell to Jackson State 63-54 Monday afternoon. The Lady Lions forced the Tigers into 16 turnovers, but the post depth of Jackson State could not be contained due to foul trouble.
Senior guard Hailey Giaratano led SLU in Monday's matchup with 13 points and three assists to continually be an impactful player for the Lady Lions. Arianna Patton contributed nine points off the bench to give Southeastern a spark throughout the game shooting 66.7 percent from the field. Giaratano, Kennedy Paul and rising freshman Avari Berry have been solid so far this season to lead the team in scoring production.
Mobile received an early start to its season and is coming off a 71-61 victory over Dillard University Tuesday afternoon. Alanna Donaldson led Mobile with 16 points along with three other players for Mobile to add double digit scoring. The Rams heavily rely on production from Erica Jones who averages 20.5 points per game.
Saturday's game will honor junior transfer Arianna Patton as the Spotlight Player through the PRIDE mentorship program. Concluding Saturday's game, Southeastern will be on the road to take on Wichita State at 6 p.m. Nov. 28.
