SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Southeastern Louisiana University women's soccer team secured their second conference win of the season in a 1-0 victory over UIW in San Antonio Sunday afternoon.
 
Southeastern (4-9, 2-4) controlled the action, leading 5-4 in shots on goal over the Cardinals (5-7-1, 2-4) toward the win. Mya Guillory found the net in the SLU victory.
 
The Lady Lion defense detained UIW's opportunities, as Southeastern held UIW scoreless for the entire duration of the match. SLU goalkeeper Olivia Griffin rejected all four of the Cardinals' shots on goal to earn the sweep.
 
SLU valued possessions and remained aggressive throughout the match to reap the reward in the second half. Guillory scored from just outside the box off a corner kick opportunity in the 27^th minute for a 1-0 Southeastern advantage.
 
Southeastern continued to be aggressive in the second half with one shot on goal attempt by Hanna Moffatt, but could not add to its tally. Guillory, Moffatt and Tilly Deacon each had narrow misses. A total of 18 Lady Lions saw action in the 1-0 victory over UIW.
 
SLU will return to action on Friday to host Houston Christian (4-8, 2-4) for a 7 p.m. match on ESPN+.
