HAMMOND, La.  – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's soccer team will return to play with a pair of conference road matches in Texas.
 
Southeastern starts the trip Friday with a 7 p.m. match at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in Dugan stadium. The matchup between SLU (3-8, 1-3) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (4-5-3, 1-2-1) will be televised on ESPN+.
 
SLU will close this two-game conference road stretch against the University of Incarnate Word (4-5-1, 1-3) in a 2 p.m. match Sunday in San Antonio. Sunday's match can be seen on ESPN+. Live stats for both matches, provided by the hosts, can be accessed on the women's soccer schedule page at www.LionSports.net.
 
Southeastern went 0-1 this past weekend after suffering a tough 1-0 loss to Lamar, at home Sunday.
 
SLU held the Cardinals scoreless for the entire first half. The Lady Lions finished with four total shots and three corner kick opportunities. Lady Lion goalkeeper Olivia Griffin ended the match with six saves and enters Friday's match with 41 saves this season.
 
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi also underwent a tough 3-1 loss this last weekend against UIW. Olivia Hughes scored the lone goal for the Islanders on Sunday, with two total goals this season. Kennedy Stelling and Zoe Theriot split time in the net for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and have a combined goals against average of 1.67 heading into Friday's match.
 
UIW will be remaining at home after earning their first conference win Sunday against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Payton Adams, Alex Knutson and Melissa Bailey scored all three goals for the Cardinals, while Erica Defferring (1.00 GAA) has handled the majority of the goalkeeping duties.
 
Concluding Sunday's matchup, Southeastern will return home to face Houston Christian for a 7 p.m. match Oct. 13.
