Pair Previously Won Awards Together on Oct. 9th

FRISCO, Texas – For the second time in three weeks, two members of the defending Southland Conference Champion Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team doubled up on SLC Player of the Week awards as, just like they did two weeks ago, Rachel Hartmann was named Offensive Player of the Week while Gracie Duplechein earned Setter of the Week honors, the conference office announced on Monday.

Hartmann, a junior setter and opposite from Slidell, La., averaged 5.94 points per set in the two matches on the week for Southeastern, accumulating 5.13 kills per set on a .393 attack percentage while also collecting two assists, three service aces, and seven block assists in the wins over Houston Christian and Texas A&M-Commerce.

In the win over HCU, Hartmann hit .319 and finished with 19 kills, two service aces, an assist, and four block assists. She followed that up on Saturday with her third 20+ kill match, hitting .476 on her way to 22 kills in the win over A&M-Commerce. She added an assist, an ace, and three block assists in the win over Commerce. In the process, she collected her sixth and seventh double-doubles on the year with 10 digs against the Huskies and 15 digs against the Commerce Lions.

The award is Hartmann's third Offensive Player of the Week award of the season, having won it on Aug. 22nd as well as the aforementioned award two weeks ago on Oct. 9th. It's also the third-straight SLC Offensive Player of the Week award to be won by a Lady Lion, four of the last five having been won by SLU along with six of the nine awards handed out this year, the others being won by Kailin Newsome.

Duplechein, a junior setter from St. Amant, La., averaged 14.38 assists per set, turning 40.8% of her sets into assists on Lady Lion kills as SLU hit .257 combined in the wins over HCU and A&M-Commerce. She also had four service aces and had two block assists while averaging 2.75 digs per set in the week's two matches.

Thursday at Houston Christian, she had 55 assists, which at the time was a new season high, with two service aces and two block assists. She followed that up on Saturday with a new single match career of 60 assists in the win over Texas A&M-Commerce while also getting two service aces to fall. She had her seventh and eighth double-doubles on the year with 12 digs against the Huskies and 10 digs against the Commerce Lions.

This is Duplechein's second Setter of the Week award of the season and of her career, having gotten her first back on Oct. 9th when she also doubled up with Hartmann on the weekly awards.

Hartmann, Duplechein, and the rest of the Lady Lions (20-4, 11-1 SLC) put their historic 14-match win streak, currently the fifth-longest in Division I volleyball, on the line on Tuesday night down in New Orleans, looking to complete a season sweep of UNO. Opening serve of Tuesday's match against the Privateers (4-18, 2-9 SLC) is set for 6:30 p.m. in the UNO Human Performance Center. The match will be live streamed on ESPN+ with live stats also available.
