So. Anthonate Barsai crosses the finish line at the Lion Up Invitational
HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University cross country teams will get their last competitive steps in prior to the Southland Conference Championships as the Lions take part in the Watson Collegiate Classic, hosted by Mississippi College, at the Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss. on Friday morning.
The Lions will run an eight-kilometer course, starting at 7:30 a.m. with the Lady Lions beginning at 8:15 a.m. on a six-kilometer course. Live timing for both races will be at LionSports.net.
The Southeastern men are looking to ride the momentum of their positive showing at the Lion Up Invitational.
Euan Lagan was named the Southland Conference's Runner of the Week after crossing the finish line first in the Lion Up Invitational's men's 8K race.
Tim Anstett,
Triston Watford, and
Landen Schillage will all be looking to build off of top-10 finishes on the course at Covey Rise Lodge last week.
On the women's side, the Lady Lions will also be looking to build off a positive result for Covey Rise last Friday.
Nikola Vimmerová made it a SLU sweep of the SLC Runners of the Week award as she earned the women's honor after a second place finish in the Lion Up Invitational which guided Southeastern to the team title on the 5K course.

Friday's Watson Collegiate Classic is the third of three-straight weekends of meets for the Lions cross country teams. It also represents the final race on SLU's calendar before racing for Southland Conference Championships on October 27
th in San Antonio, Texas. Both races will also serve and last opportunities to get times to qualify for the NCAA Division I South-Central Regional Meet, being held in Fayetteville, Ark. this year.
