HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball program is set to host its annual First Pitch Banquet and Alumni Game the first weekend in February, head coach Matt Riser announced Thursday.
 
Riser and the Lions will host the First Pitch Banquet, Friday, Feb. 3, at 7 p.m. in Ponchatoula, Louisiana at Chesterton Square Weddings and Event Venue.
 
The event includes dinner, a cash bar, silent auction, raffle and a $2,000 cash drawdown. Individual seats are $100 and reserved tables (eight seats per table) are available for $1000. Fans are encouraged to reserve their space as soon as possible.
 
During the banquet, Riser will also make a special presentation that starts a new tradition within the program.
 
Current members of the S Club will receive free admission to the event, but are asked to RSVP with operations director Cade Lanoux to ensure enough seating is available. S Club members wishing to participate in the cash drawdown must purchase a banquet ticket.

The Lions will also host an alumni game at 11 a.m. the next day (Feb. 4) 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feburary 5, at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. Admission to the scrimmage, which features Southeastern baseball alumni squaring off against the 2023 Lions, is free.
 
Baseball alumni wishing to participate in the game are also asked to RSVP through Lanoux at baseball@southeastern.edu or (985) 549-5130.
 
DIAMOND CLUB / S CLUB
Fans interested in becoming active supporters of the baseball program are encouraged to join the Diamond Club. Lion baseball alums are encouraged to join the exclusive S Club, which is restricted to Southeastern athletic letter winners.
 
All membership fees and donations to both the Diamond Club and S Club (baseball) are available for the exclusive use of the Southeastern baseball program.
