HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's soccer team travels to Texas to take on HCU Friday at 7 p.m.
The match between Southeastern (4-2-1, 2-0-1 SLC) and HCU (0-6-2, 0-2 SLC) will be televised on ESPN+. Live stats can be accessed on the soccer schedule page on lionsports.net.
The Lady Lions are off to an undefeated start in Southland Conference play after wins over McNeese and Nicholls as well as a tie against Northwestern State.
Mya Guillory and
Emma Jones share the team lead for Southeastern with two goals each.
Claire Huston has dished out a team high with three assists. Defensively,
Olivia Griffin has handled the majority of the work in goal for the Lady Lions and carries a 1.34 goals against average.
HCU is looking for its first win of the season as it is coming off of a three match losing streak, after falling to Texas A&M Commerce, Houston, and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Katie Marker is the top goal scorer for HCU with three goals. Ryan Ford is also on the leaderboard with two assists. On the defensive side of the ball, HCU goalkeeper Chloe Bagshaw has a 2.00 goals against average and 32 saves on the season.
Following this match up, Southeastern returns home to face Lamar at Strawberry Stadium Sunday, Oct 2
nd at 1 p.m. This match will be streamed on ESPN+.
