HAMMOND, La- The Southeastern Louisiana University women's soccer team (2-2) are hoping to turn the tide against McNeese in Southland Conference opener Sunday.

Opening up conference play against the McNeese Cowgirls (3-3-0, 1-0-0) at Cowgirl Field Sunday, Southeastern is coming off a loss to South Alabama last week, losing 1-0.

The Lady Lions won their home opener against Southern 3-2, after a shutout win over Jackson State 3-0 with the help of
Emma Jones and
Olivia Griffin who earned Southland Conference Players of the Week for their efforts.

McNeese are coming off of a shutout win over Nicholls (1-5-1, 0-1-0), 4-0. Their key player, Magalie Depot put McNeese on the board with her second goal of the season while Kiana Kukaua had her first career goal as a Cowgirl. The game will be streamed on Cowboy TV.

Southeastern's next conference opponent is Nicholls. The Lady Lions will play them at home in the conference home opener at Strawberry Stadium, Friday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. Nicholls fell to McNeese in Lake Charles 4-0. This match up will be streamed on ESPN+.
