HAMMOND, La. – The unbeaten Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team will open its 2022 regular season home schedule Tuesday with a 6 p.m. match versus Jackson State in the University Center.
 
The match between SLU (3-0) and the visiting Lady Tigers (1-2) will be televised live on ESPN+ and live stats will be available at LionSports.net.
 
Southeastern opened the season with a perfect weekend at the Katrinka Crawford Invitational in Beaumont, Texas. The Lady Lions sandwiched four-set wins over Tulane and Idaho State around a three-set sweep of Prairie View.
 
SLU showed offensive firepower in the opening week, averaging 13.45 kills per set and recording a team hitting percentage of .240. Cicily Hidalgo, who was named the SLC Offensive Player of the Week Monday, leads the team with 3.73 kills per set, followed by Kailin Newsome (2.70 kps), Karlee Wilkerson (2.27 kps) and Crispin Adams (2.00 kps). Gracie Duplechein (5.55 assists per set) and Peyton Stokley (4.91 aps) have shared setting duties.
 
Defensively, Adams leads the team with 1.09 blocks per set. Ansley Tullis paces Southeastern with 3.36 digs per set, followed by Hidalgo (2.82), Newsome (2.20) and Duplechein (2.18).
 
Jackson State opened the season with a straight-set win over Arkansas Pine Bluff, along with losses to North Dakota State and Southeast Missouri State. Alexis Williams (3.42 kps) and Olivia Flanagan (2.92 kps) lead the offensive attack, with Williams also leading JSU in digs (3.42 dps).
 
Following Tuesday's match, Southeastern will be back on the road. The Lady Lions head to Stephenville, Texas to compete in the Dr. Pam Littleton Classic. Southeastern opens the tournament against host Tarleton State Friday at 10 a.m. SLU then faces Prairie View (10 a.m.) and Tennessee State (1 p.m.) Saturday. Friday's match will be televised on ESPN+.
