HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team, in conjunction with the Southland Conference, released its 2022 season schedule Monday.
 
With the return of Lamar and the addition of Texas A&M-Commerce to the Southland, the conference slate increases to 18 matches. SLU will face each conference foe twice, once at home and one on the road.
 
The Lady Lions will host 12 home matches during the regular season, including the five-team Battle of the Boot tournament, Sept. 16-17, at the University Center.
 
Southeastern kicks off season preparations with the annual Green & Gold scrimmage, Aug. 18, followed by an exhibition match, Aug. 20, against ULM. Both are home contests.
 
The regular season begins in Beaumont, Texas with three matches at the Katrinka Crawford Invitational, Aug. 26-27, against Tulane, Prairie View A&M and Idaho State.
 
SLU opens the home portion of its regular-season schedule, Aug. 30, with a non-conference match against Jackson State.
 
Following their home opener, the Lady Lions return to the road for a pair of tournaments – the Dr. Pam Littleton Classic, Sept. 2-3, in Stephenville, Texas and, Sept. 9-10, the Jack Kaiser Volleyball Classic in Queens, N.Y.
 
Before hosting the Battle of the Boot, Southeastern opens conference play with a home match, Sept. 15, against Northwestern State.
 
Participants in the Battle of the Boot include Lousiana Tech, Southern and ULM along with both Northwestern State and SLU.
 
Returning to Southland action for the remainder of the regular season, Southeastern hosts matches against McNeese (Sept. 27), Nicholls (Oct. 1), Lamar (Oct. 6), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Oct. 20), HBU (Oct. 22), New Orleans (Oct. 27), A&M-Commerce (Nov. 5) and UIW (Nov. 12).
 
For the first time in program history, SLU will also host the postseason Southland Conference Tournament. All 10 Southland schools will participate in the four-day event which runs from Nov. 16-19 at the University Center.
 
DIGGIN' IT CLUB / S CLUB
Fans interested in becoming active supporters of the Southeastern volleyball program are encouraged to join the Diggin' It Club. Lion volleyball alums are encouraged to join the exclusive S Club, which is restricted to Southeastern athletic letter winners.
