HAMMOND, La.  – With the returns of the University of Incarnate Word and Lamar to the Southland Conference, the league announced an updated version of the 2022 Southland Women's Soccer Schedule Monday afternoon.
 
Southeastern Louisiana University (7-9-3, 4-5-3 Southland in 2021) will be joined in the league by returning foes Northwestern State, HBU, Nicholls, McNeese and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
 
The Southland will also welcome the addition of Texas A&M-Commerce, formerly a Division II school in the Lone Star Conference. The league's additions of UIW and Lamar will allow for a 12-game conference slate.
 
SLU begins league play on Sunday, Sept. 11 against McNeese on the road in Lake Charles, Louisiana, will have home-and-home matchups with Northwestern, HBU, Nicholls and McNeese. The Lady Lions will play single games against Lamar and A&M-Corpus Christi at home, while facing A&M-Commerce and UIW on the road.
 
The Southland Tournament will be held in Natchitoches, Louisiana hosted by Northwestern Wednesday-Sunday Nov. 2-6.
 
As of Monday, Southeastern's non-conference schedule remains the same with its season-opening matchup at Ole Miss set for Thursday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. in Oxford, Mississippi.
