The Lions have won six of their last seven conference series.

Preston Faulkner (.306) teams with Christian Garcia (.268) and Shea Thomas (.266) to pace Southeastern at the plate. Faulkner leads the squad with 28 extra-base hits, including a Southland-leading 13 home runs to go along with 55 RBIs. The RBI total ranks second in the conference. Tyler Finke ranks second in the Southland with 23 stolen bases. Rhett Rosevear (30) leads the nation in HBPs and the Lions (105) rank third as a team behind Purdue (108).

Faulkner enters the weekend tied for second (33) on Southeastern's career home run chart with Jeremy Gross (1997-98). He is now third (161) in career RBIs, trailing second-place Brent Taylor (1986-89) by three. Faulkner is also fourth (42) in career HBPs, three back of Rosevear who sits in third place (45), and eighth in doubles (42).

With two steals at LSU, Finke (51) bypassed Rod Morris (1987-88) for ninth place on the program's career stolen base list. He is currently three behind Tommy Ferrand (1994-96).

Reliever Gage Trahan is fifth on the single-season saves (10) chart. He joins Chris Franklin (2009), Stefan Lopez (2012), Mason Klotz (2013) and Jared Biddy (2019) as the only Lion pitchers to record double-digit saves in a single season. The total also ties him for seventh on the career saves list.

After winning five straight games, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi dropped two-of-three games at Incarnate Word this past weekend.

Brendan Ryan (.345), Tre Jones (.328), Max Puls (.322) and Steven Rivera-Chijin (.313) are the Islanders' leading hitters. Rivera-Chijin leads the conference with 22 doubles while Jones ranks third with 10 home runs. Josh Caraway has driven in a team-high 39 runs. Ryan leads the Southland in steals by one over Finke.
