HAMMOND, LA.  – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's basketball team open up conference play in Thibodeaux, Louisiana Saturday at 1 p.m.
 
Southeastern (5-5) finished out non-conference play against Jackson State by a nine-point deficit 60-51 last Friday.
 
So far this season, multiple Lady Lions have led Southeastern on the stat sheet with junior Alexius Horne leading with 122 points and 18 assists while Hailey Giaratano trails close behind with 107 overall. Chrissy Brown who has had three double-doubles this season leads with 68 total rebounds during non-conference play. Jaylen Huderson leads with 17 steals in the last ten games.
 
Southeastern began their non-conference schedule against LSU-Alexendria 73-27. Their most notable game against the LSU Tigers back on November 29^th where they were able to keep the 11^th ranked team in the nation to 63 points during the game. The Lady Lions most recent wins were against Prairie View A&M 84-57 on December 13^th and Dillard 90-34 on November 29^th .     
 
Last season, Southeastern's conference record was 10-4 with the last game against Nicholls ending in a win 71-45 on February 26, 2022.
 
Nicholls is coming off a four-game losing streak with losses to New Mexico, South Alabama, Abilene and TCU with a non-conference record of 3-8. Lexi Alexander leads the Colonels with 129 points this season and 86 total rebounds. Kyla Hamilton leads with 35 assists.
