HAMMOND, La. – After helping Southeastern Louisiana University to the Southland Conference championship and its third playoff appearance in the past four years, junior offensive lineman John Allen and freshman kicker Riley Callaghan represented the Lions on the Stats Perform FCA All-America Teams released Tuesday.

Allen's selection marks the 11^th straight season Southeastern has had an All-America selection. He is the third offensive lineman to be honored during the decade-plus streak, joining Taylor Gadbois (2016) and Pat Allen (2019).
 
Allen, the 2022 Southland Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year and first team All-SLC selection, started 12 games at left guard for a Lion offense that averaged 35.3 points and 439.8 yards per contest. The Jackson, Mississippi native helped SLU weather the loss of three opening day starters on the offensive line by week four.
 
Callaghan took over as the starting placekicker early in his debut collegiate season. A second team All-Southland choice and a two-time league Special Teams Player of the Week, the Ashburn, Virginia native connected on 15-of-18 field goals and scored 87 points this fall.
 
Allen was one of eight SLC players on the Stats Perform FCS All-America Team. Callaghan was joined on the freshman All-America squad by McNeese linebacker Micah Davey, Nicholls linebacker Eli Ennis and UIW punt returner Kole Wilson.
 
Southeastern will hold spring practice Feb. 28 - April 1.  The Lions are scheduled to open the 2023 regular season Sept. 2 at Mississippi State.
