TUSCALOOSA, ALA.  – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's basketball team will be headed to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide Tuesday at 2 p.m.
 
Southeastern (5-3) is coming off a win against Prairie View A&M this past Tuesday, defeating the Panthers 84-57 at home.
 
Chrissy Brown, a senior from Lafayette, Louisiana hit a career high of 20 points and her third double-double of the season during the contest.
 
Alexius Horne also played a huge role in the win with 15 points while Cierra Cunningham had six assists.
 
So far this season the Lady Lions have done well under head coach Ayla Guzzardo, holding the 11th ranked in the nation LSU to only 63 points back on Nov. 29. They also have wins against Utah State, South Alabama and Dillard. Players like Brown, freshman Jalencia Pierre, and Giaratano have helped Southeastern keep the edge on their opponents
 
Pierre, a freshman out of  Springfield, La is the only freshman this year to get minutes in all eight games so far this season.  She put up 11 points, and six assists in the game against the Panthers Tuesday.
 
Alabama is 8-2 on the season under head coach Kristy Currry. This is her tenth year as leader for the Alabama women's basketball program. The Crimson Tide is coming off of a win against Little Rock 69-44.
 
Alabama was handed their first loss by South Florida 69-59 back on Nov. 16. It then went on to fall to #17 Utah in the Pink Flamingo Championships 86-93.
 
Karly Weathers led the Crimson Tide with 17 points against Little Rock while Sarah Ashlee Barker led with nine rebounds
