HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's basketball team is coming off their break to face Prairie View A&M at home in the University Center Tuesday Dec. 13 at 5:30 p.m.
Southeastern (4-3) is coming off a close loss against 11th ranked LSU Tuesday November 29 at the PMAC, losing 63-55. Before that, they won against Dillard 90-34 at home in the University Center Friday Nov. 25.
Alexius Horne, a former freshman of the year for 2020 had a career high against LSU with 28 points during the game. So far this season she has averaged 12.4 points per game and an average of 4.3 rebounds.
A few others names to mention for the Lady Lions are
Taylor Bell who has led the Lady Lions in scoring for three games and
Hailey Giaratano who averages 10.7 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game.
The Lady Lions have wins against Utah State, Dillard, South Alabama and LSU-Alexandria with help from
Chrissy Brown who has also filled the stat sheet with 6.4 points, 6 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. She also had a double-double against South Alabama.
Jalencia Pierre has been the only freshman so far this season to play in all seven games. She has proved that she belongs on the court after four assists, four rebounds, five steals and 18 points in the game against Dillard at home Friday Nov. 25.
In the game against LSU, Southeastern was 23 of 56 field goals with 33.3 three-point percentage. They had 30 points in the paint, nine points off the bench and six points off turnovers.
After Prairie View, the Lady Lions will face off against the Crimson Tide Tuesday Dec. 20 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama at 2 p.m. The game will be streamed on SEC Sports network+ and lives stats can be accessed at
