HAMMOND, La. – After helping the Southeastern Louisiana University football team to a 47-31 Southland Conference road win at Lamar, sophomore wide receiver/kick returner Gage Larvadain was named the Southland Conference Special Teams Player of the Week in an announcement from the league office Monday.
 
Larvadain is the seventh Lion to earn weekly honors from the SLC this fall, along with Austin Dunlap, Donte' Daniels, Cephus Johnson III, CJ Turner, Jack Henderson and Riley Callaghan.
 
Larvadain was recognized after averaging 44.5 yards per kickoff return, including a season-long 75-yard return in Saturday's road win, which clinched a fourth straight winning season for the Lions – the program's longest such run since a six-year streak from 1976-81.
 
The Donaldsonville, Louisiana native also added five catches for 54 yards and a touchdown in the victory over the Cardinals, finishing the contest with 158 all-purpose yards.
 
A year removed from being named Southland Conference Freshman of the Year, Larvadain leads the Southland Conference with a 24.1 kickoff return average and paces the team with 33 catches for 426 yards.
 
Southeastern will close out its regular season home schedule next Saturday, hosting Southland Conference leader Northwestern State at 4 p.m. in Strawberry Stadium. The 2022 senior class of Johnson III, Turner, Ferlando Jordan, Brandon Barbee, Nick Kovacs, Terrell Carter, Donniel Ward-Magee, Jessie Britt, Taron Jones, Carlos Washington Jr, Heath Stephen II and Tyree Rhodes will be recognized in a Senior Day ceremony approximately 30 minutes before kickoff.
 
The game will be televised on ESPN3 and can also be heard on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM, The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM).
