HAMMOND, LA.  – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's basketball team will take the road again, but this time a little closer to home to take on South Alabama Tuesday Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. at the Mitchell Center
 
The Lady Lions (2-2) started their season off with a win over LSUA at their season and home opener 73-27.
 
Southeastern then hit the road for an eight-day long trek up north to Utah where they played Utah State last Friday night and pulled out their first road victory 78-68.
 
They then headed to Salt Lake City, Utah where they took on University of Utah and fell 99-62. Their third and final game on the road trip was against San Diego State where they fell to the Lady Aztecs 69-53 after holding the lead for a little under 11 minutes in the first half.
 
Taylor Bell, Hailey Giaratano and Alexius Horne have been able to pick up the slack. Horne having an especially good season right off the bat with a 24-point career high scoring in the game against Utah State.
 
Horne, Bell and Giaratano lead the Lady Lions in scoring with 47 points to each and an average of 11.8 points per game.  Bell leads overall with four blocks, six steals and five assists.
 
USA (1-3) started off their season with a win over William Carey Monday Oct. 31, 76-31. They were handed their first two losses of the season by Spring Hill 89-45on Nov. 7 and again by Auburn 71-62 three days later.
 
Kelsey Thompson leads South Alabama in scoring with 49 points and averaging 12.3 points, 24 total rebounds averaging 6 rebounds per game and 12 assists.
