Box Score SAN ANTONIO, Texas- The Southeastern Louisiana University women's soccer team faced UIW on the road in their first half of their Texas road trip, earning a 2-2 tie with UIW Friday night.
The first score of the match landed with UIW (1-7-3, 0-4-3 SLC) against Southeastern (4-4-2. 2-2-2) somewhat early in the match in the 26
th minute. The goal was made Ayala Keeley
LUIW's score wouldn't be the only one on the board as
Mya Guillory found the net with a chest shot tying the score 1-1 before the first half ended. This goal woke up the Lady Lions and for the rest of the match were able to keep UIW closer to midfield.
The Lady Lions started off the second half with a goal made by
Kelsey Fuller in the 34th minute after the ball bounced off the goal post twice before hitting the back of the net. Southeastern dominated the field with possession from the beginning of the second half until UIW was able to recover and take the ball into possession.
UIW's Keeley answered with another goal in the lower left corner in the last 10 minutes of the match, tying the match late. Guillory tried to get in one last goal on the board off of a free kick by
Claire Huston as time ran out but the match would end in a tie 2-2.
Maycie Massingill led the Lady Lions with four shots and two shots on goal with Guillory's trailing behind with two shots on goal.
Olivia Griffin had six saves throughout the match.
