Southeastern Travels to UIW and Texas A&M Commerce

HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women’s soccer team will be on the road this weekend to face UIW at 6:30 p.m. Friday and new Southland Conference opponent, Texas A&M Commerce at 1 p.m. Sunday.

HAMMOND, La.  – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's soccer team will be on the road this weekend to face UIW at 6:30 p.m. Friday and new Southland Conference opponent, Texas A&M Commerce at 1 p.m. Sunday.
 
The matches between Southeastern (4-4-1, 2-2-1 SLC) and UIW (1-7-2, 0-4-2 SLC) and Texas A&M Commerce (4-6-1, 4-2 SLC) will be streamed on ESPN+ and stats can be accessed on www.LionSports.net.
 
Southeastern dropped their home match 1-0 last Sunday to Lamar in a physical contest that resulted in several yellow cards and one red card that was pulled on Lamar's Cariel Ellis right before the end of the first half.
 
With only five more matches to go in the regular season, the leaders for the Lady Lions include Mya Guillory who leads the pride with 13 shots while Claire Huston leads with three assists.  
 
Olivia Griffin has 18 saves under her belt with a 1.34 goals allowed average.
 
UIW is coming off of a 2-0 loss against Texas A&M Corpus Christi to conclude a sweep after being beaten by them earlier in the season. Keeley Ayala leads UIW with four goals and 17 shots on goal. Margaret Kofron has 45 saves and a goals allowed average of 1.00.
 
Texas A&M Commerce is a newcomer to the Southland Conference and beat Nicholls 2-0 in their most recent match. Mya Mitchell leads Texas A&M Commerce with seven goals, 25 shots and 15 shots on goal. Gillian McKenzie has 31 saves and a 2.67 goals allowed average.
 
Southeastern's next opponent is Texas A&M Corpus Christi  Friday, Oct. 14th  at 7 p.m.  at Strawberry Stadium and will be streamed on ESPN+ with live stats that can be accessed at www.LionSports.net.
