Inside Southeastern Football With Frank Scelfo Debuts Aug. 30; Dunlap, Kelley Named to National Watch Lists

Radio show set for Mondays at Pour House Pizza and Beer Garden; Senior quarterback (National Performer of the Year) and sophomore punter (Punter of the Year) candidates for top awards

HAMMOND, La. –  The 2021 season of Inside Southeastern Football with Frank Scelfo will debut on Monday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Pour House Pizza and Beer Garden in downtown Hammond.

The hour show, hosted by fourth-year Lion head coach Scelfo and Allen Waddell, will air for the second season from the Pour House (505 W. Thomas Street). It can be heard on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (KSLU 90.9 FM, Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM), online at www.LionSports.net/listenlive or via the TuneIn Radio and Lions Game Day Experience apps.

The show will be heard weekly on Mondays throughout the season. The one exception will be the second week of the show. Because of Labor Day, the show that week will air on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m.

A pair of Southeastern Lions were also named to a pair of national watch lists on Monday.

Sophomore punter Austin Dunlap is one of 20 student-athletes on the preseason watch list for the FCS Punter of the Year Award.

Dunlap, a preseason first team All-Southland Conference selection and the league's only representative on the list, averaged 43.7 yards per punt in the spring. His average was the eighth-highest in the nation.

SLU senior quarterback Cole Kelley, the reigning Walter Payton Award winner, is one of 44 student-athletes listed by College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) on the preseason watch list for the 2021 CFPA FCS National Performer of the Year.

Kelley, who threw for 2,662 yards and accounted for 27 touchdowns last spring, is one of five Southland Conference representatives on the list, along with Nicholls wide receiver Dai'Jean Dixon, Northwestern State running back Scooter Adams, as well as the UIW pair of running back Kevin Brown and quarterback Cameron Ward.

Southeastern will return to the practice field on Tuesday at 3:50 p.m. The No. 15/17 Lions open the 2021 season at home, hosting North Alabama at 6 p.m. in Strawberry Stadium on Sept. 4.
