HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana wraps up its second nine-game road trip of the season Wednesday with a non-conference game against No. 20-ranked Southern Miss at Pete Taylor Park in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Last time out, Southeastern shut out New Orleans, 7-0, averting a sweep in a four-game Southland Conference series. The Lions last faced Southern Miss on April 17, 2018, in Hammond, a game that turned into a 12-4 win for the then No. 13-ranked Golden Eagles.

Evan Keller (.333),
Tyler Finke (.330),
Christian Garcia (.326) and
Preston Faulkner (.296) are the Lions' leading hitters.
Jacob Burke paces the squad in extra-base hits (11 doubles, two triples, six home runs) and stolen bases (22).
Preston Faulkner leads the team with 36 RBIs. Seven different players have driven in at least 20 runs this season.

Senior right-hander
Kyle Flettrich (0-1, 4.50) draws the starting assignment for Southeastern opposite Golden Eagle freshman righty Blake Wehunt (1-1, 11.81).

Charlie Fischer (.358), Gabe Montenegro (.315), Reed Trimble (.310) and Danny Lynch (.291) are Southern Miss' top hitters. Trimble leads the squad with nine home runs, 39 RBIs and 10 stolen bases. Lynch and Christopher Sargent have hit eight homers each.

The Golden Eagles are coming off a series victory at Rice this past weekend, winning three straight after having been shut out in the series opener.

UP NEXT
Southeastern returns to the friendly confines of Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field this weekend, hosting the first three games of a Southland Conference series against rival Nicholls. If the first game goes extra innings, the second game would then become a seven-inning affair.

All remaining home games are slated to be broadcast on ESPN+.
