Maher Tabbed United Soccer Coaches National Player of the Week

SLU Goalkeeper Garners National Award

HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana goalkeeper Nadine Maher was named the United Soccer Coaches Division I Women's Soccer National Player of the Week, the USC announced Wednesday.

Maher, a senior, led the Lady Lions (8-2-4) to their first Southland Conference Tournament title since 2015 last weekend. The Dublin, Ireland native turned in three consecutive shutouts including a game-winning save in the quarterfinals against Northwestern State in penalty kicks.

The three-shutout performance also earned Maher the Southland Conference Tournament MVP.

Maher, the Southland Conference Keeper of the Week for March 30, has recorded eight shutouts this year in 14 matches with all coming during SLU's current 11-match unbeaten streak (7-0-4).

Maher and the Lady Lions will face Rutgers (8-3-3) in the opening round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament Tuesday night at 6 p.m. CT in Buis Creek, North Carolina.
