Southeastern Climbs to 18th in Stats Perform FCS Top 25

Lions (1-1, 1-1 Southland) host NSU on Saturday at 6 p.m.

HAMMOND, La. – After earning its first win of the spring 2021 season, the Southeastern Louisiana football team climbed to 18th in the latest Stats Perform FCS Top 25, which was released Monday.
 
The Lions (1-1, 1-1 Southland) rose five spots in the most recent poll after Saturday's 25-20 win over McNeese. Southeastern forced four turnovers to hold off the Cowboys, while also tallying just under 500 yards of total offense.
 
Of the seven Southland Conference schools competing in the spring 2021 season, four sit in the FCS Top 25. SLU is joined by No. 7 Nicholls, No. 12 Sam Houston State and No. 25 UIW in the poll.  
 
The Lions host Northwestern State at 6 p.m. on Saturday at Strawberry Stadium.  The game will be televised on ESPN+ and can be heard on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (KSLU-FM (90.9), Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM). Fans can also listen live to all radio broadcasts at www.LionSports.net/listenlive and via the Lions Gameday Experience and TuneIn Radio apps.

Southeastern is implementing mobile ticketing as the primary source for securing tickets for the 2020-21 season. All tickets will be available via e-mail or text message in a PDF format for fans to download on their phone or print at home. Tickets can also be downloaded to Apple Wallet. SLU is scheduled to host McNeese (March 6), Northwestern State (March 13) and Lamar (April 3) this coming spring. Current state and local health and safety regulations limit capacity at Strawberry Stadium to 2,518.
 
INSIDE SOUTHEASTERN FOOTBALL WITH FRANK SCELFO
Inside Southeastern Football With Frank Scelfo, presented by Louisiana's First Choice Auto Auction, will air every Monday through the end of the season at 7 p.m. on the patio at Pour House Pizza and Beer Garden (505 West Thomas Street) in downtown Hammond. Hosted by Scelfo, the reigning Southland Conference Coach of the Year, and Allen Waddell, the hour-long show will air on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (KSLU-FM (90.9), Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7 FM/1400 AM WFPR).
