HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's basketball team will close out the 2020-21 regular season on Saturday, traveling to New Orleans for a 4 p.m. Southland Conference contest in Lakefront Arena.

Live video (UNO paid subscription required) and stats for the game between the Lady Lions (10-7, 9-5 Southland) and the host Privateers (6-14, 3-11 Southland) will be accessible on the women's basketball schedule page at www.LionSports.net.

Southeastern has already clinched an overall and conference winning record, as well as a spot in next week's Southland Conference Tournament, scheduled for March 10-14 at the Merrell Center in Katy, Texas. The Lady Lions can be as high as the No. 2 seed depending on the results around the league on the final day of the regular season.

SLU will be looking to bounce back from a narrow 44-43 loss to Central Arkansas on Wednesday. Savannah Walker scored the game-winner for UCA with three seconds remaining to help the Sugar Bears snap a six-game Southeastern winning streak.

The Lady Lions did extend another streak in Wednesday's loss. Southeastern has held four consecutive opponents to under 50 opponents for the first time since the program's debut season in 1974-75.

Caitlyn Williams led SLU at UCA with 14 points, while Morgan Carrier joined her in double figures with 11 points. Breonca Ducksworth added nine points and a pair of assists, while Williams and Natalie Kelly shared team-high honors with six rebounds apiece.

Carrier (12.8 ppg), Hailey Giaratano (11.0 ppg), Williams (9.7 ppg), Cierria Cunningham (8.6 ppg) and Ducksworth (8.1 ppg) are the top scorers for SLU heading into Saturday's contest. Ducksworth and Cunningham are the team leaders with 3.1 and 2.9 assists per game, respectively.

The Lady Lions continue to lead the Southland with a 36.9 three-point field goal percentage. Carrier continues to have the hot hand from behind the arc, sinking 46.2 percent of her shots from long range. The New Iberia, Louisiana native ranks among the program's career leaders in three-point field goals made (132, 5th), attempted (367, 6th) and percentage (36.0, 7th).

Southeastern has continued to steadily improve its rebounding numbers, lessening its margin to minus-0.9. Kelly (8.3 rpg) and Williams (7.3) have both been effective on the glass with Williams climbing to 10th place on the school's career list with 629 rebounds.

SLU's defensive hot streak has lowered its points per game allowed average to 61.2 points per game. Kelly is fourth in the Southland with 18 blocked shots to anchor the defense.

New Orleans snapped a two-game skid with a 65-48 victory at Northwestern State on Wednesday. The quartet of Dionjhae Thomas (11.7 ppg), Mary Delgado (10.4 ppg), Mia Deck (10.3 ppg) and Jada Duncantell (9.5 ppg) lead the way for the Privateers.

Southeastern is 23-27 all-time versus its longtime rival. Back on Jan. 30, Giaratano led SLU with 18 points and eight rebounds in a 73-53 win over New Orleans.
