NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana men's basketball team looks to secure a bye in the first round of the Southland Conference Tournament as they travel to face the University of New Orleans Saturday night in the regular season finale at 7 p.m. in Lakefront Arena.

The Lions (7-15, 5-9 Southland) have lost three in a row but enter Saturday's game in seventh place in the Southland standings, a half-game behind the University of Incarnate Word (8-12, 5-8 Southland). UIW will face Abilene Christian (20-4, 12-2 Southland) on the road Saturday at 3 p.m.

With a Lions' win and a UIW loss, Southeastern would clinch the sixth seed and play Wednesday night at 8 p.m. at the Merrell Center in Katy, Texas.

UNO (8-14, 7-7 Southland) has been hot of late. The Privateers have won four of their last five games, including a 92-83 win over Northwestern State (9-17, 8-7 Southland) Wednesday night at home.

New Orleans has wrapped up a first-round bye as they will be at least the five seed in next week's conference tournament. With a win Saturday and a loss by Northwestern State to Central Arkansas at home Saturday, UNO would earn the four-seed and a double bye in the tournament.

The Lions and Privateers met on Jan. 30 in Hammond, Louisiana with SLU earning a hard-fought 79-73 thanks to Senior Keon Clergeot's 24 points and Gus Okafor's 20. Southeastern committed just 11 turnovers for the game while collecting 10 steals leading to 15 points off turnovers. UNO's Damion Rosser led the Privateers with 20 points.

Fans can watch Saturday's game as UNO will provide a live stream of the game. Video and live stats links are available at the SLU men's basketball schedule page at LionSports.Net.
