Southeastern Wraps Road Trip with Conference Series at Lamar

HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana wraps up a nine-game road trip this weekend with a Southland Conference series against Lamar at Vincent-Beck Stadium in Beaumont, Texas.
 
Games against the Cardinals (10-4, 2-2 Southland) are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Saturday and a single game at 1 p.m. Sunday.
 
Southeastern (12-8, 5-3 Southland) enters the series leading the nation with 48 HBPs, along with ranking second nationally in sac flies (15), sixth in stolen bases (40), ninth in sacrifice hits (15), 11th in both on-base percentage (.417) and runs scored (157), and 12th in both hits (200) and double plays turned (16).
 
All four games at Lamar can be heard in the Hammond area on the flagship station of the Southeastern Sports Radio Network – KSLU 90.9 FM – in addition to online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive and via both the Lions Gameday Experience and TuneIn Radio apps.

Evan Keller, a junior from Destrehan, Louisiana, paces the Lion offense with a .361 batting average. Jacob Burke, a freshman from St. Francisville, Louisiana, leads the Southland in runs scored (24), home runs (4), RBIs (22) and stolen bases (13).
 
There are five everyday players in the Southeastern lineup hitting .300 or better, including Keller, Burke (.352), Preston Faulkner (.324), Christian Garcia (.313) and Nick Ray (.310).
 
Freshman right-hander Will Kinzeler (2-1, 2.73) takes the ball for Southeastern Friday against junior righty Trevin Michael (1-0, 2.35).
 
Right-hander Will Warren (3-1, 1.44) heads to the bump Saturday for the Lions opposite junior right-hander Zach Bravo (2-1, 1.59). The Lions are undecided on a starter for the second half of Saturday's doubleheader while Lamar plans to start freshman right-hander Josh Ekness (0-0, 3.38).
 
Southeastern plans to start freshman right-hander Brennan Stuprich (1-1, 3.32) against sophomore left-hander Dylan Johnson (1-1, 1.69) in Sunday's series finale.
 
The Cardinals lead the Southland with a 2.54 ERA, ranking seventh nationally.
 
Avery George (.328, 10 runs scored, 5 stolen bases), Deric LaMontagne (.324, 3 home runs, 8 RBIs), Kelby Weyler (.321, 7 runs scored, 4 doubles, 5 RBIs) and Chase Kemp (.308, 9 runs scored, 4 home runs, 12 RBIs) are the Cardinals' leading hitters.
 
Lamar, which had its first seven games of the season canceled, split four games against Central Arkansas last weekend in its first Southland action of the year.
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern returns home next weekend to host McNeese in a four-game series at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. Games are scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. Friday and a single game at 1 p.m. Saturday. The first game of Friday's doubleheader is slated to be a seven-inning contest. If the first game goes extra innings, the second game would then become a seven-inning affair.
 
All remaining home games are slated to be broadcast on ESPN+.

TICKET INFORMATION
Baseball single-game tickets, for games during April, are currently on sale. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to minimize ticket lines on game days. Southeastern students are encouraged to contact the ticket office prior to the game to reserve theirs in advance.
 
Single-game tickets can be purchased online at www.LionSports.net/Tickets or by contacting the Southeastern Athletics Ticket Office at (985) 549-5466. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays. The ticket booth at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field opens exactly one hour prior to the scheduled first pitch.

MOBILE TICKETING
Southeastern is implementing mobile ticketing as the primary method for securing tickets during the 2020-21 school year. Tickets will be available via text message or email in a PDF format for fans to download on their phone or print at home. Tickets can also be downloaded to Apple Wallet. 
 
GAMEDAY PARKING
Gameday parking during the 2021 season is $5 per day for Southeastern baseball, while football parking is $25 per day for most vehicles and $85 for RVs.
 
CLEAR BAG POLICY
Southeastern Athletics enforces a clear bag policy for all ticketed events. The policy mirrors safety precautions required for entrance to professional and collegiate sporting venues throughout the country. For more information on the clear bag policy, visit www.LionSports.net/Clear.
 
SOCIAL DISTANCING ON GAMEDAYS
Proper social distancing techniques are required at all athletic events. Fans are asked to maintain a minimum distance of six feet from others, wear a face covering over both their nose and mouth, and wash their hands frequently. Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout Southeastern's athletic facilities.
 
While tailgating is currently prohibited, current health and safety guidelines set forth by state and local officials due to the COVID-19 pandemic allow for 25 percent capacity at athletic events. Capacity will be adjusted as state guidelines allow.
 
DIAMOND CLUB / S CLUB
Fans interested in becoming active supporters of the baseball program are encouraged to join the Diamond Club. Lion baseball alums are encouraged to join the exclusive S Club, which is restricted to Southeastern athletic letter winners.
