HAMMOND, La. – After earning its second straight victory, the Southeastern Louisiana football team climbed two spots to No. 16 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 released on Monday.

The Lions (2-1, 2-1 Southland) blocked three field goals and scored the game's final 13 points on the way to a 27-24 victory over Northwestern State. Southeastern continued to be highly productive on the offensive end, as quarterback Cole Kelley threw for 338 yards and a touchdown, ran for a score and caught a touchdown to highlight a 477-yard showing by SLU.

Southeastern's win set up a battle of ranked teams on Saturday in San Antonio, as Saturday's opponent UIW moved up three spots to No. 22. No. 7 Sam Houston and No. 17 Nicholls gives the Southland four teams in the top 25.
