HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's basketball team will open a four-game road swing to close the 2020-21 regular season on Wednesday with a 6:30 p.m. Southland Conference contest at McNeese.

The contest between the Lady Lions (8-6, 7-4 Southland) and the host Cowgirls (6-10, 6-3 Southland) can be heard live in the Hammond area on KSLU-FM (90.9), online at www.LionSports.net/listenlive and via the Lions Game Day and TuneIn Radio apps. A live video stream (paid subscription required) will be offered by the hosts at www.McNeeseSports.com.

Playing on the road for the first time since Jan. 16, Southeastern will carry a four-game winning streak into Wednesday's contest. SLU erased a 14-point deficit on the way to a 51-46 victory over Abilene Christian on Monday.

In just her third game back from injury, Caitlyn Williams led the way for Southeastern, posting a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Hailey Giaratano added 15 points for SLU, as she, Cierria Cunningham and Chrissy Brown each dished out three assists. Brown and Cunningham also led the Lady Lions with two steals each.

Southeastern held an ACU squad that came into the game averaging 74.9 points per game to its lowest single-game scoring output of the 2020-21 season.

Morgan Carrier (13.6 ppg, 6th) and Giaratano (11.8 ppg, 15th) are among the Southland Conference's leading scorers, while Williams (9.3 ppg), Cunningham (9.2 ppg) and Breonca Ducksworth (8.2 ppg) round out the team's top five scorers. Ducksworth (3.3 apg, 5th) and Cunningham (2.9 apg, 10th) both rank among the Southland leaders in assists.

Despite an off night on Monday, the Lady Lions are atop the Southland with a 37.5 three-point field goal percentage. Carrier, Giaratano and Daija Harvey are in the Southland top 15 in both three-point field goals made per game and three-point field goal percentage.

With the return of Williams and Natalie Kelly from injury, SLU has steadily improved on the glass, lowering their rebounding margin to minus-1.5. Kelly leads the team with 7.8 rebounds per game, followed by Williams (7.0 rpg) and Brown (5.5 rpg).

Opponents are scoring 64.9 points and committing 17.9 turnovers per contest versus the Lady Lions. Ducksworth leads the team with 1.9 steals per game, while Kelly has blocked a team-high 10 shots.

McNeese is coming off a 73-55 victory on Monday over Houston Baptist. Lizzy Ratcliff led five Cowgirls in double figures with 17 points.

Divine Tanks leads McNeese with 10.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per contest. Kyla Hamilton is second on the team with 9.6 points per game and leads the team with 2.8 assists per game.
