HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana soccer's Mya Guillory was voted Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week highlighted by her game-winning goal in double overtime Friday against Lamar, the league office announced Tuesday.
 
SLU (1-0) got behind 2-0 early against the Cardinals before rallying back to tie the game in the 24^th minute. Guillory played 90 of the 102 minutes and finished the match with eight shots and six on goal.
 
Guillory, a sophomore, scored two goals in the match and recorded an assist. The Prairieville, Louisiana native netted the golden goal on a great lead pass from Ellie Williams in the 102^nd minute of the match at Lamar giving the Lady Lions a heart-stopping 3-2 win. Guillory's first goal came on a penalty kick in the 14^th minute set up by a pass from Jamie Raines to Makenzie Maher in the box. The St. Amant High School grad also assisted on the game-tying goal to Maher.
 
"Everybody contributed to the win," said fourth-year SLU head coach Chris McBride. "But Mya was able to step up in big moments. Her confidence and composure shined through all match long and she helped guide the team to victory."
 
Guillory and the Lady Lions will open the home portion of their schedule this weekend. Weather permitting, SLU will take on Sam Houston (0-1) Friday night at 7 p.m. and Stephen F. Austin (3-2-2) Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. with both matches at Strawberry Stadium.
