HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's basketball team's scheduled Southland Conference contest at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has been postponed to Thursday at 3 p.m. due to travel concerns caused by winter weather conditions.

The game between the Lady Lions (7-6, 6-4 Southland) and the host Islanders (3-10, 1-4 Southland) was originally scheduled for Wednesday at 5 p.m. and will be streamed on the Islanders Digital Network at www.GoIslanders.com.

Southeastern, which will be playing its first road game since Jan. 16, enters Thursday's contest on a three-game winning streak. On Saturday, the Lady Lions shot 60.0 percent (30-for-50) from the floor – including 10-for-17 from three-point range – on the way to an 82-63 victory over Nicholls.

In the win over the Colonels, Hailey Giaratano scored a career-high 22 points, while Morgan Carrier netted five of seven three-point attempts on the way to a 20-point showing. Saturday marked the first time in nearly two years that Southeastern has had multiple 20-point scorers in the same game.

Chrissy Brown added 11 points off the bench, while Cierria Cunningham and Breonca Ducksworth each dished out five assists. Southeastern also finished with a 36-25 rebounding advantage, as Natalie Kelly grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds – the most by a Lady Lion this season.

Southeastern is fourth in the Southland with 71.2 points per game. Carrier (14.5 ppg, 6th) and Giaratano (11.5 ppg, 15th) both rank among the league scoring leaders, while Ducksworth (3.4 apg, 5th) and Cunningham (2.8 apg, 10th) both are on the Southland leaderboard for assists per game.

SLU's attack has been fueled by three-point efficiency, as the Lady Lions leads the Southland with a 39.4 three-point field goal percentage. Carrier (47.9) and Giaratano (42.6) occupy the top two spots in the Southland in terms of three-point accuracy. Carrier, who is sixth in school history with 124 career treys, is tied for the league lead with 2.7 threes per contest.

The Lady Lions have continued to be more productive on the boards and have lessened their rebounding margin to minus-1.7. Kelly leads SLU with 7.6 rebounds per contest, followed by Brown (5.6 rpg).

Opponents are scoring 66.3 points and committing 17.7 turnovers per game versus Southeastern. Ducksworth leads the team and ranks 12th in the Southland with 1.8 steals per contest.

The host Islanders will be playing for the first time since a 57-49 win over New Orleans on Jan. 20. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has had games postponed by COVID-19 protocols and weather causing travel concerns.

Alecia Westbrook leads the way for the Islanders, averaging a team-high 12.7 points per game. Westbrook also is second in the Southland with 9.2 rebounds per outing.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi leads the all-time series between the two teams, 11-8. Last month, SLU earned a 71-58 victory in Hammond in the conference opener for both teams. Southeastern forced 24 Islander turnovers in the win, while Daija Harvey led four Lady Lions in double figures with 13 points off the bench.
