HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's basketball team will open its home schedule with a 7 p.m. contest versus LSU-Shreveport on Monday in the University Center.

The game between the Lady Lions (0-2) and the visiting Pilots (4-4) will be televised on ESPN+. Jade Brumfield and Taylor Bell will be Monday's Spotlight Players of the Game. The first 150 fans will receive trading cards featuring the Lady Lion freshmen, courtesy of PRIDE.

Southeastern will be looking to bounce back from a 67-45 loss to Texas Tech on Thursday. SLU could not overcome a 26-8 first-quarter deficit in the defeat at the hands of the Red Raiders.

Bell led Southeastern with nine points, three blocked shots and two steals on Thursday. Bell and Natalie Kelly shared team-high honors with five rebounds, while Cierria Cunningham dished out a team-high two assists.

Cunningham leads Southeastern with 10.5 points per game heading into Monday's contest. Kelly tops the team with 6.0 rebounds per contest.

Cunningham, Caitlyn Williams and Hailey Giaratano each have a team-high three assists. Bell's three blocked shots top the team, while Cunningham, Giaratano and Daija Harvey all have three steals to top the roster.

Williams is ninth in school history with 650 rebounds and fourth with 82 blocked shots in her career. Morgan Carrier is among the program's career leaders in three-point field goals made (133, 5th) and attempted (378, 6th). Harvey's career 37.2 three-point field goal percentage is the fourth-highest ever by a Lady Lion.

Southeastern will be facing an LSU-Shreveport team that is coming off a 61-53 victory over LeTourneau. Monday's game will count as an exhibition for the Pilots. DeAuja Thompson leads LSU-S with 16.3 points per game.

Thompson's 5.8 rebounds per contest also leads the team. Her fellow senior Britney Thompson paces the squad with 3.1 assists per outing.

Monday will mark the fourth all-time meeting between the two in-state foes. Southeastern has won the previous meetings, with the last victory coming in the 2005-06 season. The Lady Lions are 37-10 all-time in home openers.

Following Monday's contest, Southeastern will return to the road, traveling to Alcorn State for a 6 p.m. nonconference meeting in Lorman, Mississippi.
