HOUSTON, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team dropped a Southland Conference match to HBU in straight sets, 25-18, 25-22, 25-19, Saturday at Sharp Gym.
 
SLU (8-15, 6-5 SLC) falls into fourth place in the conference standings with its second loss to the Huskies (18-7, 9-2 SLC) this season.
 
The Lady Lions struggled on offense, hitting .089 collectively. Southland kills leader Cicily Hidalgo was held to single digits for just the second time this season, recording six kills and six errors.
 
Karlee Wilkerson led Southeastern with eight kills. Crispin Adams and Kibi Huggins joined Hidalgo in contributing six kills each. Huggins hit .333, remaining error free on 18 total attempts.
 
Ariana Hebert handed out a team-high 15 assists to go along with a pair of service aces and nine digs, narrowly missing a double-double. Gracie Duplechein dished out an additional 14 assists for SLU.
 
Sophomore libero Calli Collins led all players with 16 digs and Jolie Hidalgo chipped in 12 more.
 
UP NEXT
SLU returns home next week to wrap up the regular season with a three-match homestand. The Lady Lions host conference-leading Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (14-9, 10-1 SLC), Thursday at 6:30 p.m., and UIW, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m., in the University Center.
 
The final match of the regular season is slated for Veterans Day against Northwestern State. In addition to the traditional Senior Night ceremony, all active duty and military veterans will be honored.
