HAMMOND, La. – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Emma Crump scored on a header in the final minute of the first half off a corner kick from Carmen Cervantez as the Southeastern Louisiana University women's soccer team lost 1-0 Sunday afternoon at Strawberry Stadium.
The Lady Lions (5-8-3, 3-5-3 Southland) had their opportunities as they finished with nine shots and five on goal.
The Islanders (6-9-2, 4-5-2 Southland) finished the match with four shots and three on goal.
In the 44
th minute of the first half, Crump took the perfectly placed corner kick from Cervantez right in front of the Lady Lions' net and snuck it just past the outstretched arms of SLU goalkeeper
Nadine Maher.
Southeastern dropped to 0-3-2 on the six-game homestand as they will wrap up the regular season Friday night at home against Nicholls (0-15, 0-10 Southland) at 7 p.m. for Senior Night.
SLU will honor five seniors prior to the match, including Maher,

Lexie Gundersen and all-time games player leader
Megan Gordon.
