Southeastern will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak on Saturday. On Wednesday, SLU's rally fell short in a 80-72 home loss to McNeese. The Lady Lions trailed by as many as 19 early in the third quarter, but roared back to close the deficit to seven points. However, the visiting Cowgirls wouldn't allow SLU to complete its comeback.

Cierria Cunningham led Southeastern with 18 points, while
Breonca Ducksworth and
Morgan Carrier joined her in double figures with 14 and 12 points, respectively. Ducksworth and Giaratano led SLU with three steals apiece, while
Natalie Kelly returned to the lineup for the first time since Nov. 27 and paced the team with seven rebounds.

Southeastern was able to create plenty of open shots and a season-high in free throw attempts, but was unable to convert at a high efficiency. The Lady Lions shot 34.8 percent (23-for-66) from the floor and 59.0 percent (23-for-39) from the charity stripe.

Carrier has scored in double figures in four straight games and leads the team with 12.6 points per game. Giaratano (10.3 ppg), Cunningham (9.9 ppg), Ducksworth (9.8 ppg) and
Jaylen Huderson (7.6 ppg) are the top scorers for the Lady Lions. Kelly (6.0 rpg) and
Chrissy Brown (5.4 rpg) are the team's best performers on the boards, while Ducksworth (3.1 apg) and Cunningham (2.5 apg) are the team's top playmakers.

Carrier leads Southeastern with 2.1 three-point field goals per contest. The senior wing is seventh in school history with 107 three-point field goals made.

SLU is allowing 70.9 points and forcing 18.8 turnovers per contest heading into Saturday's game. Ducksworth paces the squad with 2.3 steals per outing.

Northwestern State heads to Hammond looking for its first win of 2020-21. The Lady Demons have lost to Houston Baptist, McNeese, Nicholls and Stephen F. Austin to open conference play.

Anessa Dussette leads NSU with 9.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Tristen Washington is second on the team with 8.4 points per contest, while also leading NSU with 2.0 assists per outing.

Saturday will be the 71
st all-time meeting between the Lady Lions and Lady Demons. Northwestern State leads the all-time series, 48-22, though SLU swept the season series in 2019-20.
