ABILENE, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana men's basketball team lost to Abilene Christian, 76-42, Saturday afternoon at the Teague Center.

The Lions (3-10, 1-3 Southland) were led by
Keon Clergeot with 11 points. Clergeot, out of Winter Haven, Florida, was limited to 18 minutes as he picked up three fouls in the first nine minutes of the game. Junior
Gus Okafor and
Matthew Strange both scored six points, making two three-pointers a piece.

The Wildcats (11-2, 3-0 Southland) had 12 players in the scoring column led by Kolton Kohl with 15 points and Mahki Morris with 10.

The two teams came out battling in a defensive struggle as the Wildcats led, 7-4, with 12:01 left in the first half. ACU stormed on a 15-0 run to take a 22-4 lead late in the first half. The Wildcats took a commanding, 41-13, halftime lead and never looked back.

SLU shot 11-for-36 (30 percent) from the field while committing 30 turnovers leading to 32 points for the Wildcats. ACU finished 24-for-54 (44 percent) from the field on 21 assists.

The win was the fourth straight for Abilene Christian over SLU as the Wildcats remained undefeated at home (7-0) this year.

Southeastern will play again Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. against McNeese (6-6, 0-3 Southland) on the road at Burton Coliseum in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
