LAKE CHARLES, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana men's basketball team looks to snap a seven-game losing streak Wednesday night when they face McNeese on the road at 6:30 p.m. in the H&HP Complex.

The Lions (6-21, 3-13 Southland) fought gamely Saturday at home before falling to reigning Southland Conference Tournament champion Abilene Christian (17-10, 12-4 Southland), 75-69. Southeastern trailed, 42-28, at halftime before roaring back in the second half to tie the game at 63-63 with 3:44 left. ACU, however, broke the tie going on an 11-0 run to seal the win.

SLU's Junior
Brandon Gonzalez continued his resurgence after scoring a career-high 21 points. The Punta Gorda, Florida native is averaging 12 points and 5.6 rebounds over his last five games.

Meridian, Mississippi product
Ty Brewer leads Southeastern in scoring (15.1 ppg) and rebounding (7.7 rpg). The sophomore, who scored 16 points in the loss to ACU, is ranked in the top 10 in the conference in both categories.

Von Julien, a senior, continues to lead the Southland in assists with 136. The Reserve, Louisiana native now has 269 assists for his career which ranks him ninth all-time in Lions' history.

The Cowboys (12-15, 7-9 Southland) enter Wednesday's game in need of a win after dropping six straight games. McNeese opened the Southland schedule losing three straight before going on a seven-game winning streak. Despite the six-game losing streak, the Cowboys have dropped each by just seven points or less.

McNeese is clinging to the eighth and final spot in the Southland Conference Tournament, just one game ahead of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (10-17, 6-10 Southland) and UIW (9-18, 6-10 Southland).

The Cowboys, however, possess one of the most dominant players in the conference in senior Sha'Markus Kennedy (6-8, F, 220). The Tuscaloosa, Alabama native leads the conference in rebounds (10.6 rpg), field goals made (187) and field goal percentage (.675). He is also second in scoring (18.2 ppg) and blocked shots (74).

Wednesday is the second matchup of the season between the Cowboys and Lions. McNeese defeated SLU, 77-61, Jan. 25 in Hammond, Louisiana. The Cowboys were led by Kennedy who scored 26 points on 11-for-13 shooting and blocked five shots. Southeastern was paced by
Maxwell Starwood (6-7, 230, F). The junior from Baton Rouge, Louisiana scored a career-high 17 points while Brewer added 15 points and nine rebounds.
