HAMMOND, La. –
The Southeastern Louisiana men's basketball hosts the University of New Orleans Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. in the University Center as they begin the second half of league play.

Saturday is Military Appreciate Day at the University Center. If you have a valid military service or unit member (police, EMT, Firefighter, etc.) ID, bring it to the ticket office before game day or the ticket window on game day and receive two free tickets to the game.

The Lions (6-15, 3-7 Southland) are still very much in the hunt for a berth in the Southland Conference with 10 regular season games remaining. Southeastern is in 10th place in the standings entering Saturday's game but is just two games out of sixth place while owning tie-breaker advantages over Northwestern State (5-5, 6th in Southland) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (5-6, 8th in Southland).

SLU is coming off an 88-68 loss on the road to Central Arkansas (6-15, 5-5 Southland) Wednesday night. The Lions had a nine-point lead midway through the first half, 26-17. But the Bears rallied to take a two point lead at halftime, 40-38. UCA took control in the second half as they outscored SLU 48-30 on their way to the win. Junior Pape Diop, returning from a two-game hiatus with a concussion, scored 13 points to lead the Lions while Von Julien added 12.

The Privateers (6-15, 2-9 Southland) fell Wednesday as well as they were defeated at home by Northwestern State, 82-74. UNO, the preseason Southland Conference favorites, have struggled on the road as they are just 1-9 away from Lake Front Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana.
However, the Privateers still possess one of the most potent offensive weapons in the conference in first team preseason All-Southland guard Bryson Robinson (6-4, 200, Sr.). The Mesquite, Texas native enters Saturday's contest with the Lions averaging 17.6 points per game (fourth in the Southland).

The Privateers lead the all-time series with the Lions, 13-7. The two teams split last year with UNO defeating the Lions in New Orleans, 89-68, as they drilled a season-high 14 three-pointers. SLU returned the favor beating the Privateers, 81-67, at the University Center thanks to a career-high 33 points from former Lion Moses Greenwood.

Fans can follow the play-by-play of the game on 90.9 FM KSLU. The Southeastern Sports Network will offer a free video stream of Saturday's game. Tune in online at www.LionSports.net or the Lions' Gameday Experience app for Android or iOS devices. Fans can also watch on Southeastern's YouTube channel (SLUathletics) with any mobile, tablet or smart TV device (e.g., Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Android TV and Roku).
