CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southeastern Louisiana dropped its final volleyball match Saturday at the Saluki Bash, falling despite a late rally against host Southern Illinois, 25-23, 25-15, 22-25, 25-22, at the Banterra Center.
 
The Lady Lions (2-5) struggled against the SIU (3-3) serve as the Salukis recorded 13 aces in the match, the exact difference in total points scored. Southeastern's play above the net proved crucial to it staving off elimination in the third set, posting five of its eight team blocks.
 
Caroline Golden turned in another double-double with a match-high 12 kills and 15 digs. The junior from Mandeville, Louisiana also served up a pair of aces. Jodi Edo added 10 more kills for the Lady Lions. Baylee Laskoskie dished out 25 assists to aid the offensive effort and Ariana Hebert chipped in another 13.
 
Edo, a senior from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, had a hand in six of Southeastern's eight total blocks, including a pair of solo blocks. Alexis Pratt (14) and Jolie Hidalgo (13) also contributed double-digit dig totals.

Karlee Wilkerson, a sophomore from Springfield, Louisiana, was named to the All-Tournament team.
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern opens the home portion of its 2019 schedule, hosting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a Southland Conference match Thursday at the University Center. Both teams will participate in the SLU Lion Up Classic, Friday and Saturday in Hammond, Louisiana against California Baptist and Jackson State.
