MOREHEAD, Ky. – Southeastern Louisiana split a pair of matches Saturday at the Comfort Inn-vitational, defeating Coppin State in four sets, 23-25, 25-14, 25-18, 25-19, and dropping its final match to host Morehead State, 25-13, 25-16, 25-19, at Johnson Arena.
 
Caroline Golden, a junior from Mandeville, Louisiana, led all players in the opening match with a career-high 20 kills. She also contributed three service aces to the offensive attack. Jolie Hidalgo chipped in 11 more kills and Crispin Adams, a freshman from Brookshire, Texas, earned the first start of her career and added a career-high nine kills.
 
Directing the Southeastern (5-9) offense, freshman setter Baylee Laskoskie dished out career-high 44 assists.
 
Jodi Edo and Karlee Wilkerson each had a hand in seven of the Lady Lions' 10 total blocks. Alexis Pratt (15) and Lizzy Low (12) both reached double figures in digs.
 
In the Morehead State (9-3) match, junior middle blocker Sam Gomez posted a team-high 10 kills. Laskoskie handed out another 26 assists and Alexis Pratt picked up 11 digs.
 
With the win over Coppin State (3-10), Southeastern has equaled its win total from the previous two seasons combined.
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern returns home next week to host a pair of Southland Conference matches at the University Center, Sept. 26 against McNeese and Sept. 28 against Lamar. The first 100 students at the McNeese match will receive a free spirit item from Southeastern Athletics courtesy the Pennington Center.
