HAMMOND –The Southeastern Louisiana softball program will hold tryouts for walk-ons on Aug. 28 at 2:30 p.m. at North Oak Park, SLU head coach
Rick Fremin announced on Monday.
The tryouts are open to students currently enrolled full-time at Southeastern. Interested parties will need to complete the walk-on procedure form available at LionSports.net. Tryout participants will need to bring their own equipment (gloves, bat, cleats, helmet, etc.). In addition, tryout participants must confirm with assistant coach
Jack Byerley at jack.byerley@southeastern.edu no later than Monday, Aug. 26 their intention to attend the tryouts.

The Lady Lions will open up their eight-game fall exhibition schedule versus Baton Rouge Community College on Sept. 13 with a 10-inning exhibition contest at North Oak Park. Southeastern then hit the road for contests at UL Lafayette (Sept. 27, 6 p.m. - 10 innings) and LSU Eunice (Sept. 28, 12 p.m. - 10 innings). Other visitors to Hammond this fall include Copiah-Lincoln Community College (Oct. 2, 5 p.m. - 10 innings), Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (Oct. 12, 1 p.m. - 10 innings), Coastal Alabama Community College (Oct. 17, 4 p.m. - 10 innings), LSU Alexandria (Oct. 18, 4 p.m.) and Jones County Junior College (Oct. 18, 6 p.m.).
