CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. –
The Southeastern Louisiana men's basketball team's week-long three-game road trip continues Saturday afternoon when they take on Austin Peay State at Winfield Dunn Center at 7 p.m.

The Lions (2-3) are coming off a tough loss to Tulsa (4-1) Wednesday night. Southeastern overcame a 12-point first half deficit and had a 59-57 lead with 4:59 to go.

However, the Golden Hurricane went on a 10-0 run and held on for a 73-66 win. The Lions had four players score in double figures led by sophomore Ty Brewer with 17 points and seven rebounds. Junior Pape Diop added 13 points and nine rebounds while Von Julien and Brandon Gonzalez each had 10.

"I thought we competed really hard," said SLU men's head basketball coach David Kiefer. "They jumped on us early but our guys stayed with the plan. We fought back and gave ourselves a chance to win the game and the effort was there the entire game."

Southeastern turns their attention to Austin Peay (1-3). APSU is looking to bounce back as well coming off a 90-72 loss Wednesday night on the road to Vanderbilt (3-1).

The Governors feature a balanced offensive attack led by pre-season Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year Terry Taylor. The six-foot-five-inch 230 pound junior forward leads the team in scoring averaging 19.5 points per game.

"He (Taylor) is a big strong forward that is very skilled that can play inside and out," said Kiefer. "Those kind of guys have bothered us with us their strength so we are going to have to do a good job of everybody helping inside."

After Saturday's game, the Lions will head to Nashville, Tennessee to face Vanderbilt Monday night at 7 p.m. Monday's game will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
