THIBODAUX, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana women's soccer team scored four unanswered goals in the second half as they rolled to a 5-2 win over Nicholls Friday afternoon on the road in the season finale.
Â
The Lady Lions (4-13-1, 3-8 Southland) got on the board first in the 19

th minute when Blaire Laiche scored her seventh goal of the season off the assist from Tessa Calabria.
Â

Â
Nicholls took the lead, however, early in the second half. Hannah Bodron scored in the 54

Â
Southeastern seemed to be ignited by the goal as the Lady Lions scored four unanswered goals in the final 36 minutes.
Ellie Williams,
Mya Guillory (assisted by
Darby Gillette),
Mia Milton and
Brogan Bernadas each scored for the Lady Lions in the second half.
Â
Williams, a freshman, scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season. The Frisco, Texas native finished the match with six shots, four on goal and assisted Milton's goal. Cortina added two assists as she aided Williams' goal.
Â
"It was nice to score some goals today," said third-year SLU soccer head coach Chris McBride. "It was good to see the versatility to get so many different players to score and for us to go out on a good note for our seniors Amber and Caroline (Lee). And it was almost a storybook ending for Caroline as she came so close to scoring in the final seconds of the game."
Â
Marinero added three shots, three on goal and assisted on Bernadas' goal.
Â
SLU continues to dominate the all-times series with Nicholls as the Lady Lions are 26-1-1 against their in-state rivals.
Â
The Lady Lions finished the match with 26 shots and 18 on goal. The 26 shots was the most by Southeastern against a conference opponent since Nov. 6, 2014 at Houston Baptist when SLU attempted 27 shots. The 18 shots on goal was the most for the Lady Lions since  recording 18 Sept. 18, 2011 in a 9-0 win over Grambling.
