HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana swept past Southern in straight sets Tuesday, 25-16, 25-13, 28-26, at the University Center, wrapping up the Lady Lions nonconference action for the 2019 regular season.
 
The Lady Lions scored the final five points in the opening set and carried that momentum into the second, eventually building a 12-point advantage halfway through the match.
 
With the victory over Southern (7-15), Southeastern (9-11) has its most wins since picking up 13 in 2015.
 
Southeastern recorded its fourth-highest attack percentage of the season, hitting .254 in the three sets. Karlee Wilkerson led all players with double-digit attempts with a season-best .474 percentage.
 
Jodi Edo (11), a senior from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Wilkerson (10), a sophomore from Springfield, Louisiana, both reached double figures in kills. Sam Gomez, a junior from Mandeville, Louisiana, and Jolie Hidalgo, a freshman from Lafayette, Louisiana, contributed nine apiece.
 
Freshman setter Baylee Laskoskie dished out 41 assists, her second-highest total of the season, and contributed 10 digs to the defensive effort for her fifth double-double of the season. Caroline Golden, also a junior from Mandeville, served up half of the team's four aces.
 
Edo and Wilkerson each had a hand in three of the Lady Lions' four blocks. Hidaglo led all players with 16 digs. Lizzy Low (12) and Golden (11) joined both Hidalgo and Laskoskie with double-digit digs.

Returning to Southland Conference action, the Lady Lions (8-11, 3-3 Southland) wrap up the week with matches Thursday at 6 p.m. at Abilene Christian (4-12, 2-4 Southland) and 1 p.m. Saturday at Stephen F. Austin (18-1, 6-0 Southland).
