MOBILE, Ala. – Southeastern Louisiana returns to the volleyball court this weekend with three matches in South Alabama's Jaguar Invitational.
The Lady Lions (1-5) will face host South Alabama (1-5) Friday at 11:30 a.m. and then turn around to face Louisiana Tech (1-6) later that afternoon at 5 p.m. Southeastern matches up with Mississippi State (2-5) at 12 p.m. Saturday to conclude the weekend.

LADY LIONS
OPPONENTS
- South Alabama dropped all three of its matches this past weekend at the Hyatt Regency Georgia Tech Tournament, falling to Tulane, host Georgia Tech and Wofford. The Jaguars are hitting .216 as a team while opponents have compiled a .231 attack percentage.
- Kelley Hartman (3.16 k/s), Iva Durdanovic (2.58 k/s), Hannah Harris (2.24 k/s) and Parker Harrell (7.80 a/s) lead South Alabama's offensive attack. Hartman has served up 11 aces. Ashlyn Roberts (3.22 d/s), and Harrell (2.16 d/s) anchor the defense, while Hartman (0.84 b/s) and Morgan Stalcup (0.79 b/s) are the Jaguars' top blockers.
- Louisiana Tech dropped all four of its matches this past weekend at the UND Classic presented by Buffalo Wild Wings, falling twice to Eastern Washington and once each to Western Carolina and host North Dakota. The Bulldogs enter with a .160 attack percentage. Opponents are converting at a .223 success rate.
- Kaitlyn Adams (2.78 k/s), Lara Hendricks (2.70 k/s) and Abigail Hildenbrand (7.78 a/s) pace Tech's offense. Madeline Davis leads the team with nine service aces. Alyssa Zucco (4.72 d/s) and Carter Mirich (2.80 d/s) are the Bulldogs' top defenders along the back line. Davis (0.65 b/s) and Emily Boylan (0.53 b/s) lead the blocking effort at the net.
- Mississippi State dropped 2-of-3 matches in the Appalachian Invitational this past weekend, defeating host Appalachian State to close out the tournament after dropping matches to Davidson and Clemson. The Bulldogs are hitting .172 and holding opponents to a .176 attack percentage.
- Amarrah Cooks (2.56 k/s), Khristian Carr (2.40 k/s), AJ Koele (2.33 k/s) and Morgan Kath (7.30 a/s) key State's offensive attack. Gabby Zgunda has served up a team-high five aces. Kendall Murr (5.11 d/s) and Zgunda (3.78 d/s) are the Bulldogs' top back-line defenders, while Cooks (0.78 b/s) and Deja Robinson (0.77 b/s) are the team's top blocking threats.
LAST MATCH
Host Army West Point defeated Southeastern Louisiana in straight sets, 25-18, 25-23, 25-19, Saturday at Gillis Field House, wrapping up the Lady Lions' participation in the Black Knights Invitational.
For the second time in as many days, Katchen (Fox River Grove, Illinois) led Southeastern on offense. The sophomore transfer recorded eight kills and posted a team-best .400 attack percentage.
Golden and Gomez, both from Mandeville, Louisiana, contributed seven and five kills, respectively. Mirarchi handed out 10 assists and Baker dished out an additional eight for the Lady Lions. Mirarchi also served up a pair of aces.
Gomez had a hand in three of Southeastern's match-high six team blocks. Torres (San Antonio, Texas) led the Lady Lions with 10 digs. Mirarchi contributed nine digs and Golden chipped in another six to aid the defensive effort.
The Black Knights compiled a .259 attack percentage as a team, while Southeastern converted at a .161 clip on offense.
JACKSON STATE MATCH
Southeastern's match at Jackson State, postponed Tuesday in advance of Hurricane Gordon, has been rescheduled for October 2 at 6:30 p.m. in Jackson, Mississippi.
UP NEXT
The Lady Lions host Tulane at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the University Center. The 2018 home opener is the annual Dig the Lions match featuring a t-shirt and free food for the first 200 Southeastern students in attendance.
