IRVING, Texas – Southeastern Louisiana junior
Bailey Smith, playing in his first tournament since October, fired a 1-over-par 36 over his final nine holes to lead the Lions on the opening day of the ORU/SFA Spring Break Challenge Monday at the TPC Four Seasons-Las Colinas.
Smith, who last played in the David Toms Intercollegiate the opening week of October, finished at 6-over 77 with a birdie on the fourth hole.
Junior
Joris Etlin had birdies at No. 3 and 8 in an 8-over 79.
Freshman
Logan Kuehn also had a pair of birdies at 5 and 9 in his 10-over 81 round.
Junior
William Meyers had an 11-over 82 with birdies at 9 and 18.
Freshman Kris Kerr shot a 14-over 85.
Stephen F. Austin's Blake Stock shot a 4-under 67 to lead Rice's Mario Carmona by a shot.
Southeastern sits in 15
th place at 35-over 319. Rice holds a five-stroke lead over CSU-Fullerton, North Texas and Illinois State with a 1-over 285.
