HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana dropped a Southland Conference match in straight sets to Central Arkansas, 25-18, 25-9, 25-18, Saturday at the University Center.
 
The Sugar Bears (15-4, 5-1 Southland) won their fifth-consecutive conference match, topping Southeastern (1-17, 0-6 Southland) for the second time this season.
 
Sam Gomez (Mandeville, Louisiana) led the Lady Lions with eight kills and a season-best .538 attack percentage. Jodi Edo (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) and Caroline Golden (Mandeville) contributed six kills each to the offensive attack. All three had a hand in on a block.
 
Haley Baker (Elkton, Maryland) dished out a team-leading 15 assists and served up the squad's only ace. Michelle Mirarchi (Plano, Texas) distributed an additional 14 assists for the Lady Lions.
 
Baker, Golden and Mirarchi picked up team-high five digs apiece.
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern continues its homestand next week with a pair of conference matches as part of the annual Homecoming festivities, hosting Lamar, Thursday at 7 p.m. for the annual Smoot Fever match, and McNeese, Saturday at 12 p.m. leading up to the football game.
 
Admission to both matches is free and fans are asked to enter the arena down the ramp at Gate 3. Volleyball posters and magnet schedules will be available in the Fan Zone.
