ABILENE, Texas – The offense was clicking early for Southeastern Louisiana, but Abilene Christian rallied Saturday for a 23-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-20, Southland Conference win at Moody Coliseum.
The Lady Lions (2-20, 1-9 Southland) took the first set off second-place ACU (12-10, 9-1 Southland), swinging at a .345 clip. The Wildcats rebounded to out-hit Southeastern the rest of the way.
Caroline Golden (Mandeville, Louisiana) picked up a team-leading 12 kills while
Elyssa Purcell turned in 10 and
Jodi Edo (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) added another 9 kills.
Haley Baker handed out 33 assists.
Baker and
Tempestt Vaughn served up a pair of aces each and Golden added one.
Sam Gomez (Mandeville) had a hand in seven of the Lady Lions' nine team blocks, including one solo.
Golden also led the squad with nine digs.

Southeastern wraps up its three-match road trip Tuesday at Southern Miss. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The Lady Lions then return to the University Center for their final homestand of the season, which begins Oct. 27 against Northwestern State and also features conference matches Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Nov. 1) and Houston Baptist (Nov. 3).
