JACKSON, Miss. – Southeastern Louisiana wraps its four-match road trip Tuesday, traveling to Jackson State for a 6:30 p.m. non-conference volleyball match at T.B. Ellis Gym.
 
The Lady Lions (1-14) were originally scheduled to face Jackson State (5-14) on Sept. 4 in Jackson, but the match was postponed in advance of Hurricane Gordon.
 
Jackson State has dropped back-to-back contests following a four-match winning streak. Southeastern is looking to snap a 13-match skid.
 
Last season, the Lady Lions defeated Jackson State in straight sets, 25-15, 25-17, 25-23, at Mississippi State's Maroon Classic in Starkville, Mississippi.
 
SLU NOTES

• Elyssa Purcell (1.92 kills/set), Caroline Golden (1.81 k/s) and Jodi Edo (1.63 k/s) lead Southeastern's offensive attack under the direction of setters Haley Baker (3.84 assists/s) and Michelle Mirarchi (3.56 a/set). Mirarchi leads the team with 12 service aces.
• The Lady Lion defense is anchored by Lexie Torres (3.36 digs/set), Golden (2.24 d/s) and Alexis Pratt (1.87 d/s). Up front, Sam Gomez (0.83 blocks/set), Tempestt Vaughn (0.65 b/s), Purcell (0.42 b/s) and Jo Simovic (0.41 b/s) lead the blocking corps.
• Southeastern has compiled a .108 attack percentage while opponents are hitting at a .278 clip.

 
OPPONENT NOTES

• Tielar Richards (2.39 k/s), Camry Dabney (2.28 k/s), Sapphire Simpson (5.29 a/s) and Priscilla Sanchez (3.73 a/s) pace the Lady Tiger offense. Simpson has served up a team-leading 24 aces.
• Markayshia Masani (2.88 d/s), Tyler Moorer (2.81 d/s) and Alexandra Burney (2.24 d/s) are Jackson State's top defenders along the back line. At the net, Kanile'a Nomura (0.64 b/s) and Marina Bianchi Brito (0.62) are the squad's top blockers.
• The Lady Tigers have compiled a .126 attack percentage as a team while holding opponents to a SWAC-low .198 percentage.

 
LAST MATCH
Southeastern fell Saturday in straight sets at the University of New Orleans, 25-19, 25-23, 25-20, in a Southland Conference match at the Human Performance Center.
 
The Lady Lions were led offensively against UNO (10-9, 4-1 Southland) by Gomez. The native of Mandeville, Louisiana recorded a team-high eight kills and season-best .462 attack percentage.
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern returns to the University Center for a Southland matchup with Stephen F. Austin on National Taco Day. First serve is set for 7 p.m. Thursday.
