ABILENE, Texas – Southeastern Louisiana returns to the road this weekend for a pair of Southland Conference volleyball matches, traveling to Abilene Christian and Sam Houston State.
 
The Lady Lions (2-13, 0-2 Southland) face Abilene Christian (4-10, 0-2 Southland) at 6 p.m. Thursday in Moody Coliseum. Live stats and video of the match are available, provided by the Wildcats.
 
Saturday, a 1 p.m. conference matchup against Sam Houston State (5-9, 2-0 Southland) awaits Southeastern at Johnson Coliseum in Huntsville, Texas. Live stats are available for the match.

Southeastern is looking to snap a three-match skid after dropping its first two conference contests.

• Sophomore middle Savannah Alcazar (League City, Texas) has turned in some of the best performances of her career over the last five matches. She recorded the first double-double of her career against North Texas (10 kills, 12 digs) to go along with a .348 attack percentage in the match. In the last two matches, she has twice established a new career high in kills.
• Last time out, sophomore hitter Chloee Holden (Alvin, Texas) reached double-digit digs (10) for the first time in her career, turning in the first double-double performance of her career (10 kills).
• Southeastern is averaging 10.32 kills with a .122 attack percentage, 9.44 assists, 12.30 digs and 1.40 blocks per set. Opponents are averaging 13.32 kills with a .244 attack percentage, 12.56 assists, 14.60 digs and 2.27 blocks per set.

Sam Houston State: Picked third in the Southland's preseason poll, receiving three first-place votes … Jordyn Vaughn, Brooke White and Taylor Cunningham earned preseason All-Conference honors … has won back-to-back matches after dropping both contests at the SMU Doubletree Classic … Vaughn (3.57 kills per set) and White (3.51 kills per set) are the top two attackers in the Southland while setter Jaclyn Ward (9.37 per set) ranks third in assists … averaging 12.28 kills with a .169 attack percentage, 11.24 assists, 14.54 digs and 1.87 blocks per set.

Southeastern stays on the road, traveling to UL Lafayette for a non-conference match Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. before returning home to host Houston Baptist (Oct. 5).
